Pavement Structure

The street in question is part of T8D1 and one of the two streets planned for implementation in the Municipality of Shtip under this agreement.

The work is being carried out by the construction company “Kole Trans” with “Gradba Promet”.

Project Overview

The project includes the reconstruction of the street.

The construction works include the following tasks:

  • Securing and marking the route
  • Demolition of the existing basalt block pavement and existing behaton blocks, with loading and transportation to a location or landfill designated by the Investor-Municipality.
  • Demolition of the existing asphalt from the road d=7-12cm, with loading and transportation to a location or landfill designated by the Investor-Municipality.
  • Mechanical excavation of soil in a wide excavation of category III and IV with loading and transportation to a location or landfill indicated by the Investor-Municipality
  • Procurement, transportation and installation of a buffer layer of crushed material for the road dmin=30 cm to the required compaction
  • Installation of concrete curbs (MB40 18/24) at certain locations
  • Procurement, transportation and installation of concrete paver elements for a sidewalk d=8 cm placed on fine sand of 3-5 cm.
  • Procurement, transportation and installation of bitumen emulsion of 0.3-0.5 kg/m2 on a previously cleaned and decontaminated surface
  • Procurement, transportation and installation of a bituminized bearing layer BNS 22SA d=7 cm
  • Procurement, transportation and construction of AB 11C d=5 cm

Before construction, the street, or rather the road structure, was in poor condition, i.e. there were transverse and longitudinal cracks, as well as basalt cubes that were planned for removal.

The value of the signed contract for this street is 8,952,445.00 denars.

Currently, 100% of the street is completed. Attached are photographs documenting the street before construction, during construction and the completed sections.

Here it must be taken into account that after the geomechanical examination of the street, a deepening with additional buffer material was determined and confirmed, which was published and approved through a Variation.

Reconstruction of the intersection of Sremski Front Street and Boris Kreiger

With this sub-project is planned reconstruction of the existing asphalt road (crossroad) and sidewalks.

With the reconstruction are planned the next activities:

  1. Marking the route of new planned sub – project
  2. Removing the existing damaged asphalt road, the existing base course and part of the subgrade.
  3. Leveling, planning and compacting the subgrade until needed.
  4. Leveling and compacting the base course with crushed stone until needed.
  5. Constructing predicted layers of asphalt
    1. Bituminized asphalt layer BNS 22 -12,0sm
    2. Layer of AB 11 – 4sm
  6. Spraying with bituminized emulsion in between the layers.
  7. Installing curb/edge concrete elements
  8. Constructing sidewalks with paver elements.
  9. Leveling the existing manholes
  10. Constructing pipes for drainage the storm water.
  11. Electrical installations.
  12. Mapping with horizontal and vertical signalization

Reconstruction of local street Panche Karagjozov

With this sub-project is planned reconstruction of the existing asphalt road and sidewalks.
