Training held on managing the safety of local road infrastructure through design for safe road infrastructure

In the period from May 7 to 8, 2025, a training on managing the safety of local road infrastructure through design for safe road infrastructure was held at the Hotel Aleksandar Palace, intended for municipal officials. Representatives of the municipalities had the opportunity to learn about good practices for safe speed management, application of measures and solutions for traffic slowing and speed control, design of school zones and safe routes to schools, zone 30 and calm traffic zones, design of local roads with low traffic load, designs of transit roads through populated areas, design of road crossings for vulnerable road users, safe traffic management in road work zones and design of traffic signals and road equipment. The training was organized by the Ministry of Transport through the Local Roads Connection Project, which is being implemented with a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development – World Bank. The Ministry of Transport continues to strengthen the capacities of municipalities to manage the safety of local road infrastructure.
